Air Starter Repairs

ACR can repair most of the main component piece-parts in the Honeywell and Hamilton Sundstrand/Sumitomo Commercial Aircraft Air Starter Families. These include, but are not limited to, the Housing, the hub gears, the carriers, the drive shafts, the turbine wheels/rotors, and the scrolls/scroll housings. ACR performs OHM repairs as well as ACR-Developed FAA-Approved Process repairs to these units.

Hub Gear Repairs

Since 1994 ACR has had a repair to restore the worn Hub Gear ratchet teeth to serviceable condition through an FAA-Approved process. ACR-restored Hub Gears have a long-term demonstrated track record of performing as well or better than new Hub Gears. ACR also can restore the diameters of the Hub Gear by Chrome Plating per the OHM or other ACR-Developed Repairs.

Drive Shaft Repairs

Since 1995 ACR has had an FAA-Approved repair to restore a Drive Shaft with worn Spline Teeth to serviceable condition. ACR also has the capability to restore a Drive Shaft with worn Bearing Diameters and an FAA-Approved repair to replace a severely damaged Drive Shaft or Drive Shaft section by inertia welding. ACR also performs OHM repairs to the Drive Shaft.

Drive Shaft Assembly Repairs

Since 1999 ACR has had FAA-Approved repairs to restore the CFM56-Series Air Starter Drive Shaft/Hub Gearshaft Assembly to serviceable condition. ACR has developed repairs to Tig weld repair the face wear on the Clutch Shaft and the mating face wear on the Output Shaft. ACR also has developed a repair to chrome plate the ID of the Hub Gearshaft.

Scroll Repairs

Since 1994 ACR has had FAA-Approved repairs to restore a Starter Scroll with a damaged Convex Radius and/or damaged Vane Section to serviceable condition. ACR has the capability to restore Scrolls with damaged or destroyed flanges as well. ACR can also repair most dents and cracks, and can also perform OHM repairs to the Scroll.

Gear Carrier Repairs

Since 1994 ACR has had FAA-Approved repairs to restore a Starter Gear Carrier with damaged Bearing Bores and/or damaged Lugs to serviceable condition. ACR’s lug repair method has been imitated but never successfully copied. ACR also has the capability to perform repairs to the Bearing Support as well as performing OHM repairs to the Gear Carrier.

Gear Cage Repairs

Since 1995 ACR has had FAA-Approved repairs to restore a Starter Gear Cage with damaged Bearing Bores and/or a damaged Main Bore to serviceable condition. ACR has repairs to correct damage to the flange and to the supports of the Gear Cage as well. ACR also has the capability to perform OHM repairs to the Gear Cage.

Turbine Wheel Repairs

Since 1994 ACR has had FAA-Approved repairs to restore a Turbine Wheel Assembly with damaged Bearing Diameters and/or damaged Vanes and/or damaged Splines and/or damaged Threaded End to serviceable condition through a number of approved repair methods. ACR also has the capability to perform OHM repairs to the Turbine Wheel w/Exducer Assembly.

Turbine Rotor Repairs

Since 1994 ACR has had FAA-Approved repairs to restore a Turbine Rotor with damaged Bearing Diameters and/or damaged Vanes and/or damaged Splines and/or damaged Threaded End to serviceable condition through a number of approved repair methods. ACR also has the capability to perform OHM repairs to the Turbine Rotor.

Stator Housing

Since 1996 ACR has had FAA-Approved repairs to restore a Stator Housing with a damaged Shroud and/or damaged Vane Section to serviceable condition. ACR has the capability to restore Stator Housings with damaged or destroyed Apron Conduit Sections as well as ID bores. ACR can also perform most OHM repairs to the Stator Housing.

Stator Repairs

Since 1996 ACR has had FAA-Approved repairs to restore a Stator with a damaged Shroud and/or damaged Vane Section to serviceable condition. ACR has the capability to restore Stators with damaged or destroyed Flanges as well. ACR can also perform most OHM repairs to the Stator.
